 eption of Impressionism and the oeuvres of Yuri Krotov. Is there in this t
 he suggestion of irreverence for the stylistic imagery of the Impressionis
 ts\, or rather does the existence of Yuri Krotov inspire us with the vital
 ity of his canvases – works which makes possible an extraordinary insigh
 t into nature\, marine and the figure?\n \nKrotov’s Impressionistic visi
 on is rather more severe than say\, Monet’s watery lilies\, or Boudin an
 d Jonkind’s marine studies. His warmth however\, is not. Measured by the
  luminous phenomenon of light – his dense brush strokes create the unden
 iable image of Impressionism. Yuri looks at the world and responds with sh
 immering light and colour.\nI hope that these exceptional paintings by Yur
